As part of our collaboration with, Spanish design company, BD Barcelona, we are excited to announce the launch of their first ever UK showroom with a new exhibition entitled Sitting with Salvador.
The launch, which takes place during Clerkenwell Design Week, features a variety of stunning pieces by a number of leading artists and designers, including the Campana Brothers, Färg & Blanche and Christian Zuzunaga.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is undoubtedly the preview of a new Dali chair, Invisible Personage. Based on the Dali painting, Singularities, the chair perfectly captures the surreal tone and searing humanity of the great artist’s work. Designed by artist, BD co-founder and long time collaborator of Dali, Oscar Tusquets Blanca, the chair is fashioned from exquisite Tibetan sheep shearling.
BD first displayed Dali’s work in 1972 and have continued to reproduce his inspired, abstract designs. Many of these, including the elegantly crafted Leda armchair, are on display as part of the exhibition.
This strong avant-garde overtone is continued throughout the rest of the pieces, creating a mood that is sophisticated, energetic and inspiring. Sitting with Salvador provides art lovers and design aficionados alike with an insight into the mind of a great artist and a glimpse into the future of modern design.
